Dr. Angela Shields, MD
Psychiatric Director

Dr. Angela Shields is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with over 14 years of experience. Her clinical expertise includes treating adults with depression, mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, and substance abuse. Dr. Shields' greatest passion is bringing healing and hope to those experiencing stress in their lives. She takes an evidence-based, whole health approach to patient care and believes in meeting you "where you are” on your road to recovery. She will welcome you with empathy and sincerity combined with a direct approach to treatment.

Dr. Shields grew up in Gulf Breeze, FL. She obtained her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She then completed the Medical Scientist Training Program at Vanderbilt Medical School, earning her MD and her Ph.D. in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics. Her Ph.D. research focused on stress and its role in relapse to addiction. Dr. Shields completed her residency in Psychiatry at Vanderbilt Medical Center.  She is board certified in both General Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine..

Elizabeth Elwood, PMHNP-BC
Clinical Director

A proud Nashville native, Elizabeth is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over eight years of experience in critical care and post-anesthesia nursing prior to pursuing her APRN licensure. Throughout her career, she has developed a keen understanding of the profound connection between physical health and emotional well-being.

Elizabeth combines her extensive expertise in acute patient care with specialized mental health training to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care tailored to individuals of all ages facing mental health challenges. She provides comprehensive longitudinal psychiatric care, medication management, and IV ketamine therapy, empowering her patients toward lasting wellness and improved quality of life.

Kate Rainwater
Clinic Coordinator

Kate's professional journey began with a Theatre Arts degree from Columbia College Chicago, which then led her to Los Angeles where she worked in film and television. She appeared in major motion pictures such as The Crazies and Batman: The Dark Knight. She served as the Front of House Manager for Cake Mix, celebrity chef Duff Goldman's cake decorating studio in Beverly Hills where she managed high-profile and celebrity clientele. Working in Hollywood, Kate refined her customer service and management skills, and she developed a passion for providing personalized customer experiences.

In 2023, Kate relocated to Omaha, Nebraska, becoming Waybridge Clinics' first employee as their Clinic Coordinator. She developed many of the patient care protocols and workflows now standard across all Waybridge locations, influencing everything from the initial phone interactions and intake process to the clinic's aesthetic design. Kate’s extensive background in customer care and commitment to creating meaningful client experiences ensure that all Waybridge patients feel safe, welcome, and cared for throughout their treatment.

Dr. Kevin Stoffer, MD
Medical Director

Dr. Kevin Stoffer is an Emergency Medicine physician who earned his medical degree from East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine and completed his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Through his experience in the Emergency Room, Dr. Stoffer became deeply committed to addressing the root causes of chronic mental health disorders, conditions he regularly encounters firsthand.

Passionate about innovative treatments, he specializes in intravenous ketamine therapy, offering powerful relief for patients suffering from severe depression, suicidal ideation, and PTSD. Dr. Stoffer is dedicated to providing this transformative therapy within a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment, empowering patients toward meaningful and lasting improvements in their mental health in collaboration with their broader mental healthcare team.
